UHB computer login details
The Medical Resourcing Team will issue all new resident doctors with their computer login details (username and password) upon commencement at the Trust.
Details of how to contact IT services can be found below, however if you have not yet received your UHB computer login details (username and password), please contact the Medical Resourcing Team in the first instance.
Password Station
Password Station is a self-service system that helps you reset or unlock your network user account without having to ring the IT service desk.
Password Station allows you to:
- unlock your account (if you’ve entered the incorrect password too many times)
- reset your account (if you’ve forgotten your existing password)
- change your password
- review your account information
NHS.net
You are entitled to request an NHS.net email account, which is available to all NHS doctors. NHS.net is a nationally provided, secure platform used widely across the NHS for sharing confidential clinical information between organisations. Having an nhs.net account can be especially useful if you work across multiple Trusts, are involved in regional or national programmes, or need to communicate with colleagues in other NHS organisations. It also provides access to certain NHS digital services and professional tools that require an nhs.net login.
Please contact IT if you would like to setup an nhs.net email account via the Service Portal that can be accessed via the intranet or the link on a Trust desktop PC.
Doctors.net
Doctors.net.uk is a secure online platform exclusively for registered UK doctors. It provides access to a professional network, clinical resources, forums, e-learning modules and the latest medical news. Many trusts use it to share updates, policies, and training opportunities with their medical workforce. You can also use the site to connect with colleagues, engage in discussions, and enhance your clinical knowledge through peer-reviewed content. Registration is free, and access is restricted to verified GMC-registered doctors, ensuring a trusted and supportive professional environment.

Staff can also access the Service Portal from the Trust intranet.
Clinical systems and user guides
Clinical Portal
This is a central electronic information system where you can access documents related to patients such as scanned documents, investigations, access to the GP record and demographic details of the patient.
There is a helpful introduction video and how to guide on the intranet.
PICS
This is the electronic health record for inpatients, outpatients, ITU and virtual ward based care.
The PICS user guide outlines how to use the system and is available on the intranet.
In addition, all new resident doctors joining UHB should have received face-to-face PICS training as part of their commencement to the Trust. If you have not yet received this face to face training session on PICS please email the PICS Training Team.
Clinical Dashboard
The Clinical Dashboard allows you to look at a list of indicators and whether they are completed at a ward and Trust level.
For example, pressure ulcers, patient falls, missed medications, whether observation and clinical scores s are completed and clinical scores completed.
Resident Doctors Dashboard
This shows you a summary of your performance in a small number of selected indicators, compared to your peers. This is used to monitor PICS activity in specific areas
iCare
This is an electronic system that is used at HGS for patient documents however it is slowly being decommissioned and is moving to the clinical portal system
Badgernet
This is the electronic system that is used in maternity and neonatology.
Norse
This is an electronic referral system for multiple specialities at UHB.
OPTIMS (Outpatient Tracking Information Management System)
This is a system that you will need to use if you are undertaking outpatient clinics
DrDoctor
This is a digital platform used by clinicians to communicate with patients for example video consultation
Winscribe
This is a system used for dictating clinic letters and authorising.
