Booking Practical Skills Training

It is a mandatory requirement for all new Junior Doctors joining the Trust to receive some face to face practical skills training.

These sessions compliment the online theory that you will have undertaken within the mandatory Junior Doctors Induction package as part of your Induction to the Trust.

All new Junior Doctors will need to attend small group practical skills training session on each of the following topics

  • Practical Resuscitation Training
  • Practical Blood Transfusion Training
  • Practical ABG (Blood Gas Analyser) Machine Training
  • Practical PICS Training

Do I need to book myself onto a session?

You may need to book yourself onto a session depending on which month you start working in the trust.

  • Junior Doctors who join the Trust in February, July, and August will automatically be booked onto these training sessions as part of your Induction to the Trust and will be notified in advance of commencement.
  • Junior Doctors who join the Trust in January, March, April, May, June, September, October, November and December, will need to email each department shown below, to arrange their own practical skills sessions. Example wording to help you book your sessions can be found below

Fit Mask Testing

All Junior Doctors are required to get themselves ‘Fit Mask Tested’, this process can be undertaken once you have started at the Trust. Please see below guidance provided by the team who manage Fit Mask Testing for all staff commencing at the Trust.
