Your birth preferences

Our maternity services will provide you with a birth preferences card during your pregnancy which aims to help you discuss your birth preferences with your care team and support partners in full. The card ensures that clinicians have a clear visual guide of your preferences throughout your birth experience.

How it works:

  • 25-28 Weeks: You'll receive the birth preferences card to take home and consider.
  • 34-36 Weeks: Complete the card with your midwife during your appointment.

The card will stay with you throughout your pregnancy and birth and can be updated as needed to ensure your preferences and clinical needs are known by your care team.

Large whiteboard/wipeable versions of the card are in all birth rooms and induction bays, making your preferences visible to your care team at a glance.

To view a copy of the card, please download it below.
