If you're a nurse, midwife, allied health professional, pharmacist or healthcare scientist (sometimes referred to as NMAHPPS) wanting to use our service, you first need to complete an expression of interest (EOI) form.
The EOI form will allow staff in the Integrated Clinical Academic Office (ICAO) to identify how best to help you.
Below is an outline of the EOI process.
Submit expression of interest form
- Upon receipt, your submission will be processed by the ICAO team
- You will then be invited to a consultation meeting with the ICAO to discuss how they can best help you
Consultation meeting
- We will discuss your needs and how the ICAO can assist you
- Your EOI submission will be used to help provide guidance
Signposting and referral to key teams
If you require help starting your own research, we can refer you to teams such as:
- UHB Research Application Support Team (Research and Development)
- Research Design Service (RDS)
- University of Birmingham Research Knowledge and Transfer Office
If you're thinking about a career and want to know more about the clinical academic pathway, the ICAO:
- may direct you to one of the funded clinical academic programmes
- can assist you in preparing a competitive funding application
- will support your preparation for an interview
Follow-up
- The ICAO will seek regular feedback on your progress via email
- The team will also provide further support or redirect you to other sources of help, if required
