Preceptorship programme

The preceptorship programme at UHB has adapted to the changing landscape created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The programme is available to postgraduate newly registered healthcare professionals including:

  • nurses
  • midwives
  • allied healthcare professionals
  • operating department practitioners
  • nursing associates on either the NMC or HCPC professional register

Online training

We've created a training package for all new starters. This package will be available to practitioners via the Trust's Moodle platform after they've completed their clinical induction process.

Study day

Following induction, new starters will also be offered the opportunity to attend a preceptorship study day focusing on the following core elements:

  • Hopes and fears
  • Reflection
  • Civility
  • Understanding different perspectives
  • Resilience
  • Top tips for new registrants

Candidates will receive the date for this study day via email and when they attend clinical induction.
