What to do if you have experienced sexual misconduct at work
If you’re the victim of rape or sexual assault, the police and other organisations are there to help. Call 999 to report a rape or attempted sexual assault, as soon as possible. Further advice is available online.
You don't have to report the assault to the police if you don't want to. You may need time to think about what has happened to you. However, consider getting medical help as soon as possible through the NHS Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs).
All line managers have a legal responsibility to their staff known as a ‘duty of care’ and therefore we encourage you to speak to your line manager at the earliest opportunity, but it’s important that you speak to someone you feel comfortable with, this is why there are different services you can speak to.
If you are worried about your sexual safety at work, or that of a colleague, you can contact any of the following for advice, support and help.
