Flexible working and reasonable adjustments

If you have a disability or a health condition that affects your ability to work, you may be able to request a change to your working pattern as a reasonable adjustment.

How to make a request

If your request is related to a disability or health condition, please speak to your manager and submit your request through the Capability/Reasonable Adjustment process rather than the standard Flexible Working Request process.

This is because disability-related requests are considered differently from standard flexible working requests.

What happens next?

Your manager will discuss your needs with you and consider whether the requested arrangement would be a reasonable adjustment. Advice may also be sought from HR or Occupational Health where appropriate.

The aim is to identify adjustments that help remove barriers and support you in carrying out your role effectively.

If you are unsure which process to use, please speak to your manager or a member of the People Site Team for advice.
