The West Midlands Research Internship Programme provides regulated health and care professionals (excluding doctors and dentists) with an introduction to research, enabling them to explore their own area of interest.
The NIHR and NHS England-funded internship allows individuals to combine clinical practice with research activity that benefits patients and service users. It is a 30 day programme that takes place over 6 months, combining taught study days, optional study and self-directed time delivered from March 2025.
Key features:
- There are no programme fees and we provide a single payment grant to your employer to cover your time on the programme
- You will be supported by the programme team to develop a personalised learning contract based around flexible features depending on your aspirations (e.g. a Master’s/Level 7 module (20 credits)
- The programme includes an academic writing course, and training in leadership and personal development.
